Terms of reference
- The Young Scientist (YS) awards will be presented by the President at the Closing Ceremony of each Congress.
- The two winners will be awarded the sum of $ 750 each.
- These prizes are reserved, according to the regulations of the Young Scientists Committee (YSC), to IATDMCT members aged 40 years or younger.
- The YS member must be the first author of the oral / poster presentation abstract.
- The YS member will have to be registered and present at the Congress.
- The YS member will have to apply for the awards when submitting the abstract.
- Members of the YSC are not eligible to be considered for the awards.
- The jury will be made up of at least three members of the YSC.
- If a member of the YSC is a co-author of the abstract, it will be considered for the award, however, the YSC co-author will be excluded from assessing this entry.
- In case of equal top marks for a given award, the jury will deliberate and then a vote will be held to select the recipient of the award by “simple majority”.
- The same person should not receive both of these awards, unless duly justified by exceptional achievements in the jury’s opinion.
- If, in the opinion of the Young Scientist Committee, no suitable candidate is available the Awards shall not be presented.
Pre-Congress abstract evaluation guidelines
Prior to the Congress the YSC will select, from the submitted abstracts, a minimum of 20 oral abstracts and a minimum of 20 poster abstracts to be assessed for the awards at the Congress.
Each abstract will be evaluated by 3 members of the YSC. The abstracts will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Clarity
(Mark 1 to 2, with 1 being the highest) - Significance / impact in TDM or CT
(Mark 1 to 3, with 1 being the highest) - Scientific content / Technical challenge
(Mark 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest) - Scientific novelty
(Mark 1 to 2, with 1 being the highest)
Congress awards evaluation guidelines
Following the pre-Congress evaluation the selected oral and poster presentations will be assessed by 3 members of the YSC jury independently during the Congress. The oral and poster presentation will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Originality, scientific or clinical importance
(Mark 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest) - Degree of scientific/technical content and challenge
(Mark 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest) - Knowledge of subject area and ability to respond to questions
(Mark 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest) - Quality of the poster, its structure and visual presentation
or
Quality of slides, its structure and delivery of oral presentation
(Mark 1 to 5, with 1 being the highest)
